Origin: Borrowed from English slogan, originally from Scottish Gaelic sluagh-ghairm 'battle cry'.

Usage Note

Eslogan is the Hispanicised spelling of English 'slogan', sanctioned by the RAE; you may also see the anglicised spelling slogan in informal use. The plural is eslóganes (accent shifts to maintain stress). It is used in advertising and political campaigns. The word entered Spanish via English rather than directly from Gaelic.
