Egoísta is one of the adjectives (like optimista, idealista) that ends in -ista and is invariable for gender: un hombre egoísta / una mujer egoísta. It can also function as a noun (el egoísta, la egoísta). The related noun for the quality itself is egoísmo, and egocéntrico shifts the meaning toward self-centered rather than just selfish.
