double

adjective DOH-bleh Less Common

Origin: From Latin duplus (twofold).

Doble sentido (double meaning/entendre) and doble fila (double-parked) are frequent collocations. In sport, dobles (always plural) means 'doubles' as in tennis doubles.

Examples

Natural Translation

I want a double room.

I-want a room double
