Usage Note
Doble is invariable for gender (un doble espía, una doble vida) and only changes for number (dobles). As a noun, un doble can mean a double (a shot of spirits, a lookalike, or a stunt double). Doble sentido (double meaning/entendre) and doble fila (double-parked) are frequent collocations. In sport, dobles (always plural) means 'doubles' as in tennis doubles.
