Disparar covers firing a weapon (disparó tres veces, he fired three times). The reflexive dispararse means 'to go off accidentally' or, of prices, 'to skyrocket' (los precios se dispararon, prices shot up). The noun disparo means 'shot' or 'gunshot'.
