Devoción is frequently religious (devoción a la Virgen, devotion to the Virgin Mary) but also describes intense personal dedication: tiene devoción por su trabajo (she is devoted to her work). The plural devociones refers to religious practices or prayers. The related adjective is devoto/devota (devout, devoted).
