Usage Note

Culturalmente is derived from the adjective cultural plus the adverbial suffix -mente. Like all Spanish adverbs formed with -mente, it does not inflect for gender or number. It often appears in academic and journalistic discourse: culturalmente diverso (culturally diverse), culturalmente relevante (culturally relevant). When two -mente adverbs appear in series, Spanish style typically drops the suffix from the first: cultural y socialmente rather than culturalmente y socialmente.
