Usage Note
Creyente comes from creer ('to believe') and means one who holds religious faith. As an adjective it does not change for gender (un hombre creyente, una mujer creyente). As a noun, los creyentes refers to 'the faithful/believers.' It contrasts with ateo ('atheist') and agnóstico ('agnostic').
