Consejero can mean a personal adviser or counsellor (consejero de empresa — business adviser) and also a regional government minister in Spain (consejero de Hacienda — regional finance minister). The feminine is consejera. Do not confuse it with concejal (town councillor) — they operate at different levels of government.
