Usage Note
Concejal is a member of a Spanish ayuntamiento (municipal council) — roughly equivalent to a city councillor. The feminine form is concejala. Not to be confused with consejero (a regional government minister or counsellor at a higher level). The plural concejales ends in -es with no accent shift.

Natural Translation
The councillor proposed the new park.
