Colectividad emphasizes a group considered as a unified whole or collective entity, often in sociological or political contexts (la colectividad inmigrante, actuar en beneficio de la colectividad). It is slightly more abstract and formal than comunidad (community). The adjective colectivo and the noun colectivo (collective, also a minibus in some Latin American countries) are related.
