Usage Note

Científicamente is the adverb formed from científico ('scientific') by adding -mente. In Spanish, when two adverbs in -mente appear together, only the last one keeps the suffix: técnica y científicamente ('technically and scientifically'). It is used in academic and journalistic registers.
