Usage Note
Chino functions as both an adjective ('Chinese') and a noun referring to a person (un chino, una china) or the language (el chino). Colloquially in Spain, me suena a chino ('it sounds Chinese to me') means 'it's all Greek to me'. The feminine form is china.
