Caprichoso describes someone who acts on sudden whims without rational justification. It comes from capricho (whim, caprice) and agrees in gender: una persona caprichosa. In informal speech it can have an affectionate tone when describing a child's fancies, but applied to adults it usually carries a mildly critical nuance.
