Cachorro primarily means a puppy (dog), but it is used for the young of many mammals: cachorro de tigre (tiger cub), cachorro de lobo (wolf pup). The feminine cachorra refers to a female pup. In some Latin American countries it is also casual slang for a kid or youngster.
