Usage Note

Aviación covers the entire field of flight and aircraft operation, from commercial airlines (aviación comercial) to military air forces (aviación militar). It should not be confused with aeronáutica, which is the science and engineering of aircraft. The accent on the final syllable is retained throughout the plural aviaciones.
