Usage Note
Arrasar literally means to raze to the ground or destroy completely. In sports and entertainment contexts it is used enthusiastically to mean 'to sweep' or 'to dominate', as in el equipo arrasó en el torneo ('the team swept the tournament'). The initial a- is unstressed and the double rr is rolled.
