Usage Note
Aprobado as an adjective means 'approved' or 'passed.' In Spain's education system it is also a noun — el aprobado — meaning a passing grade (typically 5–6.9 out of 10), the lowest passing mark. The opposite is suspenso ('fail'). The verb aprobar also means 'to approve' a law or motion.
