Usage Note
Antorcha refers to a hand-held flame torch, used both literally (the Olympic torch is la antorcha olímpica) and figuratively as a symbol of knowledge or enlightenment (portar la antorcha del saber, 'to carry the torch of knowledge'). It should not be confused with linterna (flashlight/torch in the British sense of a battery-powered light).
Examples
"El corredor llevó la antorcha olímpica por la ciudad."
Natural Translation
The runner carried the Olympic torch through the city.
