altísimo
very tall, extremely high
adjective ahl-TEE-see-moh Rare
Usage Note
Altísimo is the absolute superlative of alto, formed with the suffix -ísimo and meaning 'extremely tall/high' — not a relative comparison. It should not be confused with a relative superlative like el más alto. El Altísimo (capitalised) is a traditional title for God ('the Most High') in religious Spanish.
Examples
"El edificio es altísimo."
Natural Translation
The building is extremely tall.
