Usage Note

Albergar is used for places that accommodate people (el hotel alberga a cien huéspedes, the hotel houses a hundred guests) and figuratively for holding feelings (albergar esperanzas, to harbour hopes; albergar dudas, to harbour doubts). It is more formal than alojar for accommodation.
