Adaptación covers both biological adaptation (la adaptación al entorno) and cultural adaptation such as a film or theatrical remake (una adaptación cinematográfica). The verb is adaptar and the reflexive adaptarse a means 'to adapt to'. The plural is adaptaciones, following the regular -ción → -ciones pattern.
