Usage Note

Traspaso refers to the transfer of ownership, rights, or a lease — especially a business transfer (traspaso de negocio), where the outgoing tenant sells the goodwill and fittings to the incoming one. In sport it means a player transfer; the verb traspasar ('to transfer, to pierce through') is a false friend of English 'to trespass'.

Examples

"El traspaso del local se firmó hoy."

Natural Translation

The transfer of the premises was signed today.
