Usage Note
Transigir means to yield or reach a compromise, often reluctantly: no estoy dispuesto a transigir (I am not willing to compromise). It is a formal verb. Whereas negociar is neutral, transigir implies a concession; the related adjective intransigente (see entry 9535) describes someone unwilling to do so.
