Usage Note

Transfer (also spelled tránsfer) is used mainly in travel and sports contexts: a shuttle service between airport and hotel (servicio de transfer), or the transfer of a footballer (un transfer millonario). The native Spanish equivalents are traslado (travel) and traspaso (sports), but transfer is widely understood in both registers. Note: the seed lists this as a verb, but in Spanish it functions as a noun; transferir is the verb.
