Origin: From Latin transactio (settlement, carrying through).
Usage Note
Transacción refers to a financial or commercial exchange, or in law, an agreement settling a dispute out of court. Unlike English 'transaction,' it is less used for everyday small purchases and more for formal or significant exchanges. The plural transacciones is standard. The verb transaccionar exists but realizar una transacción is more common in practice.
