Usage Note

Tobera is the technical term for a nozzle or jet that accelerates a fluid by forcing it through a narrowing channel — key vocabulary in aeronautics, rocketry, and hydraulics. It is distinct from boquilla, the everyday word for a small nozzle or mouthpiece (e.g. on a hose or musical instrument). The tobera de Laval (de Laval nozzle) is its most cited engineering form.
