Also means
dyed
Usage Note
Tinto as a standalone noun means red wine in Spain and most of Latin America (un tinto = a glass of red wine); as an adjective it means dyed or stained with a dark colour. In Colombia tinto specifically means black coffee, not wine — a classic false-friend trap for travellers. As an adjective in the wine domain vino tinto contrasts with vino blanco and vino rosado.
Examples
"Pedí un vaso de tinto en el bar."
Natural Translation
I ordered a glass of red wine at the bar.
