Tasa means a rate in economic or statistical contexts (tasa de interés = interest rate, tasa de paro = unemployment rate) and also a fee or levy (tasa universitaria = university fee). The verb is tasar (to appraise or set a rate). Do not confuse with precio (price) — tasa implies a calculated or official figure.
