Supremacía denotes the state of being supreme or superior — supremacía naval, supremacía racial. It is a formal noun used in political, military, and ideological discourse. The related adjective supremo can describe the highest authority (corte suprema, comandante supremo). Do not confuse with soberanía (sovereignty), which is a related but distinct legal concept.
