Usage Note
Secreción refers to the biological process by which a gland or cell produces and releases a substance, as well as to the substance itself (una secreción espesa = a thick secretion). The plural secreciones is common in medical texts. Do not confuse with secreto (secret), which shares the Latin root secretus but has a different meaning.
