Usage Note
Satélite can be natural (la Luna es un satélite natural de la Tierra) or artificial (satélite de comunicaciones). As an adjective it means 'satellite' in the sense of a dependent or subordinate entity: ciudad satélite ('satellite town'). The written accent on the second syllable marks the unusual stress — three syllables from the end.
