Usage Note
Sádico is also used as a noun: un sádico (a sadist). The feminine forms are sádica (adjective) and una sádica (noun). In informal speech it is sometimes used hyperbolically for anyone who seems to enjoy others' difficulties: ese profesor es un sádico. The opposite is masoquista.
