Usage Note

Rentable means yielding a financial return or being worth the investment — un negocio rentable is a profitable business. It can also be used figuratively for anything that pays off in effort or time: no es rentable dedicarle más horas (it is not worth putting more hours into it). The noun is rentabilidad (profitability).
