Usage Note

Refinanciación is the financial process of restructuring or renewing an existing debt, used interchangeably with refinanciamiento in Latin American Spanish (la refinanciación de la deuda, 'debt refinancing'). The plural refinanciaciones is regular. In Spain refinanciación is the preferred form; in Latin America refinanciamiento is often heard.
