Usage Note

Pulpo is a staple of Spanish coastal cuisine; pulpo a la gallega (Galician-style octopus with paprika and olive oil) is one of Spain's most iconic tapas. The word also appears colloquially to describe someone who is all over the place or touchy: es un pulpo ('he can't keep his hands to himself').
