Usage Note
Prooccidental is a political adjective describing a stance or policy that favours Western alliances and values. It is invariable for gender: un gobierno prooccidental / una política prooccidental. Some texts write it with a hyphen (pro-occidental), but the RAE convention favours the fused form. Its antonym is antioccidental.
Examples
"El nuevo gobierno adoptó una postura prooccidental."
Natural Translation
The new government adopted a pro-Western stance.
