Usage Note
Pedido is a commercial or restaurant order: hacer un pedido means to place an order. It is the nominal form of pedir (to ask for / to order). In everyday speech pedido covers both an online order and a food order at a restaurant. Do not confuse with petición (a formal request or petition), which carries a more official or legal register.
Examples
"El pedido llegó antes de lo previsto."
Natural Translation
The order arrived sooner than expected.
