Usage Note
Paga is the informal or everyday word for a wage, salary payment, or instalment: cobrar la paga (to collect one's pay). In Spain it also commonly refers to an extra monthly payment (paga extra) — workers typically receive 14 salary payments per year, with the two extras paid in summer and at Christmas. For children, paga is pocket money, equivalent to British English 'pocket money' or American English 'allowance'.
