Obediente describes a person, animal, or thing that follows instructions or rules without resistance. It is the same form for masculine and feminine (el niño obediente, la niña obediente). The opposite is desobediente. The related verb is obedecer (to obey), which is irregular in the first-person singular present: obedezco.
