Navegar covers both sailing a vessel and browsing the internet (navegar por internet). The internet sense has become extremely common since the 1990s and is entirely standard. The agent noun is navegante (navigator/sailor) and the noun is navegación. Note that g before a is a hard sound; the spelling shifts to navegue in the subjunctive.
