Usage Note

Nave has two main senses: the central aisle of a church (la nave de la catedral) and, in literary or technical Spanish, a large vessel or spaceship (nave espacial). In everyday speech it also appears in industrial contexts meaning a warehouse or factory floor. The plural naves is regular.
