Nacionalista functions as both adjective and noun (un nacionalista, a nationalist) and is invariable for gender — only the article marks sex (el/la nacionalista). In Spain it frequently refers specifically to Catalan, Basque, or Galician regional-independence movements rather than the country-level meaning common in Latin America.
