Monovolumen is the standard Spanish term for a multi-purpose vehicle (MPV) or minivan — a single-body car with a large, boxy passenger compartment. It is a calque of French monovolume. The English loanword minivan is also used informally in Latin America. The plural is monovolúmenes (stress shifts with the accent mark added).
