Usage Note
Modelo covers both 'model' as a pattern to follow (el modelo económico) and 'fashion model'. The feminine form is modelo as well — the word is common gender in the person sense (la modelo), though m dominates in the abstract sense. Do not confuse with maqueta, which means a physical scale model.
