Usage Note

Malestar is a broad term for a general feeling of being unwell or socially uneasy — it can be physical (vague malaise, nausea) or social/political (unrest, discontent): malestar social ('social unrest'). It is milder than dolor (pain) and more diffuse. Doctors use it on symptom lists; commentators use it for societal discontent.
