llenar

to fill

verb yeh-NAHR Less Common

Also means

to fill out (a form)

Usage Note

Llenar is regular and covers both physical filling (llenar el vaso de agua) and administrative filling-in (llenar un formulario). The reflexive llenarse means 'to fill up' or 'to become full', including eating one's fill. Note the double-l pronunciation as a 'y' sound in most of the Spanish-speaking world (seseo regions); do not confuse llenar with llegar ('to arrive'), as learners sometimes mishear them.

Examples

"Por favor, llena el formulario con tus datos."
