Also means
to reverse
Usage Note
Invertir is an e>ie/i stem-changing verb (third conjugation). It means both to invest money (invertir en bolsa) and to invert or reverse something (invertir el orden). The noun for investment is inversión and the investor is inversor/inversora. Do not confuse with inventar (to invent) — the similar spelling trips up learners.
Examples
"Decidió invertir en acciones."
Natural Translation
She decided to invest in shares.
