Usage Note

Incrustado is the past participle of incrustar used as an adjective. It describes something firmly lodged or set into a surface — gems incrustados in jewellery, dirt incrustada in a surface, or metaphorically a habit deeply embedded in culture. The form agrees in gender and number: piedras incrustadas, fragmento incrustado. In computing, código incrustado is 'embedded code'.
