increíble
incredible; unbelievable
adjective een-kreh-EE-bleh Less Common
Origin: From Latin incredibilis, 'not to be believed'.
Usage Note
Increíble has a written accent on the í to break the diphthong — increible without the accent is a misspelling. Like terrible and horrible, it is invariable for gender (un resultado increíble, una historia increíble) and only changes for number (increíbles). In colloquial speech it functions as an intensifier of positive surprise, closer to 'amazing' than literally 'unbelievable'.
Examples
"El paisaje desde la cima era increíble."
Natural Translation
The landscape from the summit was incredible.
