Usage Note
Incidencia can mean the statistical rate of occurrence (as in incidencia de la enfermedad) or the effect/impact something has on a situation (tener incidencia en). In everyday Spanish the 'impact' sense is very common and can catch learners off guard. Do not confuse with incidente (a single event or incident).
